Giving up gluten has never been so popular.
Whether you’re coeliac, gluten intolerant, or simply interested in better health and improving your digestive system, there are now more options than ever when it comes to cooking, shopping and eating out.
But where to start? If you’re new to the gluten-free lifestyle, or you feel in need of a little refresher course, an upcoming series of events should help you get back on track.
The Coeliac Society of Ireland will hold a series of events in Cork as part of Coeliac Awareness Week 2018.
The events will feature dietetic talks, gluten free food samplings, and expert advice and tips from the Coeliac Society of Ireland on how to live a health and fulfilling, gluten free life.
The Cork events will be held on the following dates:
- Monday, May 14th: Collins’ SuperValu, Main Street, Carrigaline (6.30pm to 9pm)
- Thursday, May 17th: Ryans SuperValu, Crestfield Centre, Riverstown, Glanmire (7pm to 9pm)
- Saturday, May 19th: Scally’s SuperValu, Clonakilty House, Clonakilty (11am to 1pm)
This year, the Coeliac Society of Ireland are highlighting the impact of coeliac disease on families, and in particular, children, and how the risk of coeliac disease increases from one in every 100 people to one in 10, when a first-degree relative has the disease.
