Inspired by goings-on at Wimbledon?

If you fancy digging out your racket for game or two, but you’d rather not blow a rent payment on club membership, there are a few places in Cork where you can rent a court for an hour or two.

Ideal for fair weather tennis fans and those of us who like the odd challenge.

1. Cork Parks Tennis

Founded in 1984 on the Clashduv Road, this Togher facility rents courts at just €6 per hour. Tennis lessons are available for every age and ability too, if you need to improve your backhand. Book here.

2. Source Health and Fitness

This Tivoli health club rents courts to non-members at €25 per hour per court (€35 for use of facilities afterwards). Courts are available for rental up to 4pm Monday to Friday and all weekend. Book here.

3. Garryduff Sports Centre

These all-weather floodlit tennis courts in Rochestown are open to members and non-members, with ‘pay-and-play’ rates €15 for adults per singles, €20 per doubles. You can also avail of private or group coaching, join in a club night mini tournament, or just have a knock around with friends. Book here.

4. The Glen Resource and Sports Centre

A Council-owned recreation centre, The Glen Resource and Sports Centre has two synthetic grass tennis courts. Book here.
