Last year it was all about the frozen rosé (frosé).

For summer 2018 however we’re raising our game significantly and busting out a tasty twist on the Italian classic.

Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for frozen Aperol Spritz

You don’t even need to splash out the big bucks to treat your mates to these, Aldi’s take on Aperol (Aperini Italian Aperitif) is only €7.99 and it works just as well.

Ready to dust off the sun loungers and serve cocktails on the deck?

Here’s the recipe, it makes two servings:

Ingredients

200mls prosecco
80mls Aperol 
4 lemons, juiced
3 oranges (two of them juiced)
80mls simple syrup (boil one mug of sugar with one mug of water in a small pot and cool)
500g ice

Directions:

  • Mix the prosecco, Aperol, lemon and orange juice (use some of the flesh too) and syrup together in the jug of your blender.
  • Add the ice and blend until you get a slushy consistency.
  • Pour into two glasses, add a slice of orange and enjoy!
