Here’s another item to add to your Repeal campaign wear collection.

A Cork-based blogger and designer has created a new sweater and t-shirt design for anyone wishing to wear their message loud and proud in the coming weeks.

With the referendum on whether to repeal the Eighth Amendment due to be held on Friday, May 25th, Meggan VanderMeulen, who blogs at Cardigan Jezebel, will be donating half the profits from every sale to Together For Yes.

“Obviously, as a woman, this is such an important issue to discuss. But, being an American who lives here makes it a little more emotional for me.” Meggan told Yay Cork.

Although she can’t vote in the upcoming referendum, the 23-year-old creative has been doing what she can to support the campaign.

“My “job” for the past few weeks has been making sure everyone I know is registered to vote, is planning on voting, and they are as informed as possible.” she said.

“Something that I’ve been saying to people while chatting to them about the referendum is that my aim is to always have a discussion, a conversation about repealing the 8th.

“I never want it to be a debate or an argument. If both people are shouting, no one is listening.”

Meggan’s ‘Bleedn’ Repeal the 8th’ tee is €17.50 and the sweater is €23, available now, for one week only, on MerchT.
