Is it too late for a snow day?

Freezing temperatures across the country have resulted in traffic chaos this morning.

Conditions on the roads are so treacherous that Bus Éireann has cancelled a number of routes all over the county, leaving commuters in Clonakilty, Cloyne, Castletownbere, Dripsey, Coachford, Knochnaheeny and Farranree without transport.

The cancelled routes include:

Route 236 07:20 Castletownbere to Glengarriff;

Route 237 06:50 Clonakilty to Cork

Route 238 07:20 Butlerstown to Cork

Route 233 07:35 ex Cork to Macroom via Coachford

Fountainstown (220x)

Camden (220x)

Farranree (203)

Knocknaheeny (202)

Coachford / Dripsey (233)

A Status Yellow weather warning remains in place across the country, with Met Eireann forecasting a spell of wet and windy weather, with a risk of thundery downpours and additional accumulations of snow, although mainly in Ulster.
